As the title implies I am putting Chris Jericho (Whom I will refer to in this post by his real name Chris Irving.), on a definite blacklist of my works.
This means he will
NEVER be in my Inspirational Wallpaper series or any other wrestling Yaoi/Slash works I produce.
Why? This is why ---->
[link]If you can't see it, or are just too lazy to click the link I will give you the shorthand version of how I took it; He used a homophobic, and bigoted epithet that was in total poor taste, then when he made a Faux-pas apology, saying he was more happy to be on TMZ then to be humble about how the power of his own voice could be used to hurt others.
But that is not my major beef. At first when I read that, I was so pissed of. Not because he said a word that any third grader on a recess break could have used with little to no social skill, but rather his apology was so half-assed that it was a skip away from saying he really wasn't sorry at all.
Quite frankly, I think he lied when he said he was sorry. How sorry was he? Was he sorry enough never to do it again? Or was he only sorry that he got on camera, clearly intoxicated and caught making a fool of himself? What are you
REALLY sorry for Mr. Irving?
Now, I'm sure some people might not quite get why this is such an issue to me. It's understandable considering that Vinnie-Mac was dumb enough to use the term "That's Gay" on Raw, (Which I made clear in a previous post I was
NOT offended by.) So why be offended this time? It's simple to me; he should have just known better. Here's Why;
1) He is an established wrestler who has been in the industry for a couple decades, he is not a dime a dozen jobber, and should have known that eyes would be on him.
2) Because of experience he has given in reason one, he also knew that there were stereotypes about the very industry he works in. Which means that if he wants to perpetuate the image that pro-wrestlers are meat-heads with little to no respect for other people's values(and alcoholics to boot. Don't go to an event wasted stupid!), then he had influence to make that very image possible every time he stepped in front of a camera, by showing some dignity for himself.
3) Sports fans are diverse group of people. When this happens in other sports, such as baseball and football, sometimes there are consequences for those players when they use those terms because they have to follow a code of ethics once they sign a contract (Such as a fine or suspensions.). I'll bet you any given amount of money that Chris Irving is into other sports that have these similar kinds of contracts, also given the fact that his father was part of the NHL, you think somewhere common sense would dictate that
SOMEBODY would have told the kid; "Uh, hey. You might not want to go saying that in front of too many people." But it's ok Mr. Irving, I'm sure Vinnie-Mac won't go giving you a slap on the wrist anytime soon, besides, heaven forbid that you
DON'T insult anyone to begin with! I mean, that would just be plain no fun right?
I have to think to myself as well here, and say that I know these men in the industry are no angels, between this incident, the Jeff Hardy drug charges drama, and the Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero incidents from years back, its pretty obvious that I shouldn't get so worked up. This is just how some celebrities get their kicks. This is how they enjoy their fun of sorts. This is just how some people cure boredom.
However, I also felt for that what was done here was in no way shape and form positive and constructive on his side, and he was aware of that. I cannot reward that, or just let it slip with a "that's just what they do" kind of mentality.
No this time I am putting him on a Blacklist; a list of people whom I find totally uninspiring and can never be on one of my wallpapers, because they do not meet the requirements of intelligence, dignity, respect (or self respect), positivity, or common sense to make the world a more happier place to live and love in.
Now I'm sure this will generate no tears from anyone... at least I would hope no one would cry over that lol. But I making this not only as a rant, but as an official notice to all of my watchers: Don't expect any Y2J illustrations from me, now or in the future, I will not accept any requests for him either. If I ever do decide to change my mind on this, it would be because he actually
DID something inspirational and uplifting. So unless he has a cure for breast cancer and world hunger sometime soon don't hold your
breath.

John: 8: 7
7 As they persisted with their question, he straightened up and said, 'Let the one among you who is guiltless be the first to throw a stone at her.'
